What is Vampire: The Masquerade?
Vampire: The Masquerade is a gothic storytelling game set in the World of Darkness—a shadowy version of our own world where vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural beings exist just beneath the surface.
It’s not about heroism, but about survival, secrecy, and inner conflict. Players take on the roles of Kindred—vampires who hide among humans, struggling with ancient politics, forbidden desires, and the ever-present pull of the Beast within.
The World of Darkness
A mirror held up to our own reality, the World of Darkness is darker, stranger, and more cynical. Here, myths walk in secret, truth is buried beneath power, and every city has a hidden society of monsters playing dangerous games behind the veil of modern life.
The Beast
The Beast is the primal hunger that lives inside every vampire. It is rage, bloodlust, survival instinct—always lurking, always threatening to rise.
To be Kindred is to constantly walk the edge between control and surrender. Some lose the battle. Others never stop fighting.
The Clans
Vampires in Vampire: The Masquerade are divided into Clans—bloodlines shaped by different instincts, philosophies, and curses. These are the Clans featured in Kindred Fragments:
Toreador
The artists of the undead—captivated by beauty, cursed with longing, and haunted by the ache of lost feeling.
Lasombra
Masters of shadow and subtlety, Lasombra manipulate both darkness and power, sacrificing reflection for control in a world that fears the void.
Gangrel
Feral and instinct-driven, Gangrel walk the line between Beast and Kindred—more at home in the wilderness than among courtly intrigue.
Brujah
Rebels, idealists, and warriors with burning tempers—Brujah fight for change in a world that clings to corruption, even as their fury eats away at control.
Malkavian
Cursed with madness and insight, Malkavians speak in riddles and visions—touched by something beyond understanding, and forever fractured within.
